Hardly know how to start this post it has been such a long time (well over a month ;-p) since I last blogged.
Actually, I’d still be dragging my heels if it weren’t for the sweetest comments that I have been receiving. Thanks guys
So let me start with the big catch up.
First off: the exam. I ended up NOT doing it, after all the hype. Maybe that’ll teach me to keep my mouth shut in future until it’s a done deal.
What happened was that I had a bit of an MS relapse (totally scheduled, of course, I do tend to have them every 2-3 months, lucky me). So it affected my hands and eyes a bit, which wasn’t ideal. Would it have caused me to fail? Maybe. But I was way behind schedule as far as the syllabus went, so decided I didn’t need the added stress of all day study sessions and the odd all-nighter. I think that would have just put the relapse into overdrive.
So I got a medical cert. from the doc and got the university to transfer my exam to second session. (October). That does suit me better. I can’t believe how I’ve underestimated this exam.
My sis (the music teacher) told me that no-one can do a Grade 7 in 3 months unless they are a serious muso and genius. That did make me feel better.
So now I can relax and take it easy (but not too easy, lol)
Thank you so much for the lovely support from all of you though. Especially Gen for remembering the date of my exam and sending me good luck wishes on facebook. You are such a sweetheart, cuz! Love you lots.
So that was the exam. After that I had the flu quite badly. Then the relapse went quite mad and I had to treat that, then some sort of stomach bug hit – I didn’t know what was next! I’m okay again now, thank goodness. Touch wood!
As if that wasn’t bad enough, we also haven’t been online much this past month. First our service provider changed their product and everyone’s passwords and it was hectic because suddenly no-one could go online and they had a huge waiting-list of people to help. It took about two weeks before we were sorted out. And then this week our phone-line was off due to maintenance on the cables. It finally got fixed this morning and it’s just heavenly to be online again. Woohoo!
Got internet – will blog
In other news, our washing-machine gave up the ghost. Just wouldn’t switch on one good day. I phoned this marvelous contact I have for washing-machine repairs and he showed up fairly pronto. Turns out there has been a MOUSE living in my washing-machine that chewed up all the wiring. Furry little bastard! I shouldn’t speak ill of the dead, though. May his mousey little soul R.I.P.
The repairman whipped out a roll of electrician’s tape and within five minutes had patched up the wiring. I am currently washing the backlog of clothes that collected in the short time the machine was out of order. It’s like everybody (ahem) went ballistic and wore as much clothes as they possibly could
Now that I have the catch-up post out of the way, regular programming can resume
If by some miracle you are still tuned, please do continue to visit.
And once again, a huge thank you for all the lovely comments during my lengthy absence and the good luck wishes for the exam that never was. But will be at a later stage.
Chow for now.

Gen dancing around happily singing – “hooray hooray it’s a happy blogging day, cause Maggies back, oh yes SHE’S back, hooray, hooray, hooray, hooray……..:-) *
So glad to see you got a post up – sorry bout the exams but you are the only one that knows what you are capable of and if you felt you weren’t ready, then so be it, you will have it “waxed” in time for the October one!
I have HUGE problems with my internet connection – seems the colder it is becoming the weaker my connection. I use broadband and being stuck out in the middle of nowhere also doesn’t help much – but glad you are back in the land of the internet!
Damn that mouse. We are very lucky that the mices (lol) have not yet chewed thru our appliance wires yet – there are so many of them here on the farm, we catch @ least 4 in the traps in the evenings but these little buggers are very very smart!
Glad to hear you are feeling better too!
Take care and btw, how is bluebeary? (spelling??? – I can’t remember so lekker)
